English/History

The junior English program at Moruya High School caters for a wide range of abilities and interests. Students combine a study of literature with a study of the media and visual material. They explore how the world around them is represented in a variety of texts and are given the opportunity to write for a variety of purposes and audiences. Students are also encouraged to extend their public speaking skills through debates as well as various public speaking competitions.

In Years 11 and 12 we offer the full range of courses and the past few years have seen a pleasing increase in the number of students studying the Extension Courses.

The junior History programs are designed to broaden the students' knowledge of the world and our past. In Years 7 and 8, students study topics such as Ancient Greece and Egypt as well as the indigenous peoples of Australia and the Americas. The senior school offers both Modern and Ancient History.
