Students in the Accelerated Maths program continue to produce outstanding results. Two Year 11 Students are sitting the HSC this year and one student's assessment marks placed them first in the Year 12 class. Also, two Year 10 students have finished 2nd and 3rd and the Year 11 Preliminary Course after both had scored over 90% in their 2004 School Certificate. Four Year 9 students are completing their School Certificate course this year and their results have also been excellent. Moruya High School is a member of the Priority Schools Program, allowing us to create extra Mathematics classes in each of Years 7 and 8. This has resulted in some significantly smaller classes in these years and around 20 students in each year have had the benefit of specialised help from Ms Roman. Our team in the Year 12 Canberra Maths day maintained the high standard of previous Moruya teams performing extremely well in all events. The Mathematics Department was thrilled with the news that an ex-Moruya High student, had won the University medal at ANU and had gained entry as a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries. He is one of the finest mathematicians to attend the school. |
