The Year 8 into 9 session will run from 5pm till 6pm and the Year 10 into 11 session will run from 6pm until 7pm. A Taste of the FutureYear 10 student had the opportunity to explore the curriculum on offer in TAS and CAPA next year through a variety of taster sessions. The objective of the day was to provide students with experiences and information of subjects that are not as well known to them through the junior curriculum including VET (Construction and Hospitality), Textiles and Design, Engineering, Industrial Technology (Timber and Multimedia), Software Design and Development, Exploring Early Childhood, Food Technology, Visual Art, and Music. These sessions provided students with course outlines and the realities of what to expect if they select these courses in their senior studies. It was also a great introduction to the upcoming Creating Careers Week. Double Gold for Moruya HighFour students from Moruya High School progressed to the state Cross Country competition - an amazing achievement considering there were only 90 competitors in each age group. Lachlan Connolly, Stephanie Lunn, and Bridget Lunn all raced well against students in the NSW CHS (public) and All Schools (public, private, and independent) divisions held at Eastern Creek on Friday 26 July. However it was Jaylah Hancock-Cameron who came away with double gold (first in both NSW CHS and All Schools) in the 4 km event and was selected to represent NSW at the National competition. Victory in VETThree Moruya High School students received Excellence in Vocational Education and Training Awards in the South Coast (Eurobodalla) region. Bryce Eveleigh for Construction, Brodie White for Hospitality, and Isabella Morton for School Based Trainee and Hospitality. Congratulations to all three students and a special mention to Isabella who was announced as the 2019 VET student of the year.
